Main Campus Holländischer Platz

At the Holländischer Platz the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invited interested students to take part in guided tours of its test facilities. In groups, the participants visited the Experimental Station and Testing Laboratory for Environmental Engineering and Hydraulic Engineering (hydraulic engineering hall), the central experimental laboratory of the Institute for Structural Engineering (IKI), the laboratory for materials in civil engineering, and the laboratory for traffic route engineering.

Following the tours, the department hosted a lunch in the central cafeteria. In the afternoon, students had the opportunity to get to know the study programs in civil and environmental engineering, which were presented to them by the students of the department.

Robotics lab
The robotics lab introduces robots for various use cases. Small humanoid robots are used for group work by second semester students, larger humanoid robots are used for interaction with humans. In the current research project "U high 3", the robots are used in a shopping center to pick up deliveries of goods. For this purpose, they have arms and grippers or hands with which they accept deliveries in shopping bags, for example.
