The cargo bike funding scheme, which was first implemented by the Hessian Ministry of the Environment in 2020, has also met with an enormous response in the second funding round in 2022. The funding of 1.5 million euros made available was exhausted within a few weeks by the end of May. A total of around 1,900 applications were approved. Now the funding for cargo bikes is going into another round. The project is again being handled by the project management organization Jülich .

Via the guideline for the promotion of e-load bikes, BAFA will continue to promote the purchase of e-load bikes and e-load trailers for bicycle-bound load transport until February 29, 2024(apply now).
