Airports

In particular if you are travelling from overseas, the most convenient airport to fly to is Frankfurt am Main (FRA). Other airports nearby are Kassel-CaldenHannover, and Paderborn.

There are connecting trains from Frankfurt, Hannover and Paderborn to the station "Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe". From Kassel-Calden Airport, you can take a bus or taxi to the city.

Railway Stations

The main railway station is Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe (not as one might think Kassel Hauptbahnhof). Train schedules can be found under www.bahn.de.

Getting to the Campus in Kassel

  • Take tram line 1 (in the direction of Holländische Straße) from Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe to the main campus (tram stop Holländischer Platz - Universität).

Alternatively, take tram line 3, 4 or 7 to Am Stern and walk to the Holländischer Platz campus or change to tram line 1 or 5 (in the direction of Holländische Straße or Vellmar).

On most tram lines, trams usually go every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes after 8 pm.
