By registering here you are entitled to use certain Microsoft products free of cost under a licensing agreement for universities (MSDNAA). Please provide your university e-mail address (to verify your studentship at the University of Kassel) and click on "Abschicken/Send". Within a few days you will receive a mail with all necessary information to download the softwares. IMPORTANT:
- You are allowed to use this only as an enrolled student or lecturer at the University of Kassel!
- Please check your SPAM folder if you haven’t received any confirmation Mail within 8-9 days of registering here. If this is not the case, please contact MSDNAA-Contact Person.

MSDN Academic Alliance is a special Version of Microsoft‘s MSDN-Universal-Subscription that is meant for Schools, Vocational Institutes and Universities offering education in the field of software development. MSDN Academic Alliance allows you to access the following Microsoft products:
- Windows 7 Professional (32- und 64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional incl. SP2
- Microsoft Windows Vista Business (32- und 64-Bit-Version)
- Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2005 Professional (Intel Fortran compatible)
- Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2008 Professional (inkl. C#, C++, Basic)
- Microsoft Visio Professional 2007
- Microsoft Project Professional 2007
- Microsoft Access 2007
Please note that Microsoft Office is not included in the subscription.
This licensing allows the usage of available software tools not only for lab purposes but could also be installed in personal computers of teachers, university stuffs, scholars and students as long as it is meant purely for research and learning.
The Program has two primary goals:
- Provide Microsoft softwares like developer tools, operating systems and server applications for the academic sector as Know-how-Transfer.
- Make the Microsoft technologies available to all students who could otherwise have not afforded it.
