After successfully defending his dissertation on October 31, 2014, Fabian Hüger received his Ph.D. With his thesis titled “A Flexible Control and Display Interface for Extensions in Driver Information Systems,” he impressively demonstrated how driver information systems can integrate, display, and utilize external functions, such as applications from smartphones carried by drivers. Among other things, he developed a user interface for passenger car on-board computers whose dynamic and static content is designed to minimize distractions from the actual driving experience. We congratulate him and wish him continued success.
