We congratulate Vladimir Moor on the successful completion of his bachelor’s thesis titled “An Application for Determining the Runtime Properties of Context-Aware Algorithms on Smartphones.” In his thesis, he developed applications that make it possible to test context-based algorithms running on smartphones for their impact on the smartphone’s usability. He evaluated the functionality of his applications using the algorithms of “Implicit Positioning,” an approach for autonomously finding, learning, recognizing, and predicting location-based patterns in indoor environments. It was demonstrated that neither the segmentation, learning, recognition, nor prediction algorithms impair the normal use of the smartphone (in this case, a Google Nexus 4).
