"my world - your world - our world" (Dr. Georg-August-Zinn-Schule Gudensberg)

The Dr. Georg August Zinn School has decided to firmly integrate education for sustainable development (ESD) into its lessons, particularly in the subject of social studies. From Year 5 onwards, pupils are familiarized with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and learn to take responsibility. In various projects, they develop and implement models that aim to achieve the SDGs.

A particular highlight is the project day in year 6 in geography. The students explore the climate zones of the polar, subtropical and tropical zones. These topics are ideal for cooperation with the FMNR educational project. In total, there are three project days, on each of which the pupils have six school hours to work independently on the respective topics.

At the beginning, the groups get an overview of the FMNR method and the work of Tony Rinaudo. They can then delve deeper into the topic by creating a video explaining the FMNR method, an FMNR word cloud or a lapbook, for example. Throughout the project work, the student groups are supported and accompanied by their teachers.
