In December 2020, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called for research into the question of how to get into a world "that speaks a different language, so to speak". She was referring to the spread of hostility towards science and conspiracy theories in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. This year's Frankfurt debate is dedicated to the connections between conspiracy theories, language, media and society.
