In institutional educational contexts, it is not always easy to motivate foreign or second language learners in the classroom to use the language actively and creatively. Although principles such as competence and action orientation form the basis for current teaching materials, the question of the appropriate implementation of didactic and methodological guidelines cannot be answered with the material alone.

So how can situations in the classroom be staged in such a way that learners can independently test their language skills in a playful, creative and active way?

Perhaps it is worth looking beyond the boundaries of language teaching to other disciplines: By combining content and mediation principles from the fields of art, music, theater and play with language learning situations, holistic learning processes can also be stimulated in institutional contexts in such a way that learners actively engage with the foreign or second language.

The aim of the conference "Language learning - creative, active, action-oriented" is, on the one hand, to encourage discussions about alternative ways of teaching through presentations. On the other hand, these methods will be discussed and tested in workshops from the areas mentioned.

You have the opportunity to attend one of a total of five interesting workshopsand to work intensively on the chosen topic over the two days.
