Perhaps no other country is as synonymous with carefree dreams and a longing for happiness as Italy. In fact, Italy has offered a wide range of opportunities for philosophers, writers and artists throughout the ages since ancient times: the philosophy of an infinite nature, the poetic processing of aesthetic sensations, extraordinary experiences of light and landscape arise from encounters with Italy.

But there are also dark sides. The oppressive legacy of antiquity, greed for power, religious violence and opaque business practices have determined the negative perception and construction of Italy for centuries.

• The aim of the network is to bundle and strengthen existing contacts to Italy at the University of Kassel.
• The network offers information for students interested in Italy and tries to promote international mobility.
• The network strives to deepen and expand cooperation with Italian partner universities in research and teaching.
• The network organizes freely accessible, Italy-related events in order to intensify contacts with the cultural institutions of the city of Kassel.
