The internship should have an affinity to your course of study. This means that there should be a recognizable connection between the internship and your studies.

You can find a suitable internship in different ways:

- in the Moodle course "Internship and Perspectives FB 02" (digital posting).

- Consultation of internship exchanges or industry-specific job portals on the Internet

- Direct search and inquiry at companies, institutions, organizations or foundations that you find interesting

- Unsolicited applications

- Daily newspapers

- Recommendations from fellow students, friends and acquaintances

If you need advice or support in your search for an internship, please contact the Internship Coordination FB 02.

The Career Service of the University of Kassel will advise you on all aspects of the application process and also offers free application portfolio checks at .

Before you start an internship, it must first be approved . This step is necessary because otherwise the internship cannot be recognized if, for example, it turns out that the study program affinity or other framework conditions are not met . To do so, use the application form below (see under Downloads).

Fill it out and have it signed by your internship supervisor of your study program (see below). Then submit it with the required signatures before the start of the internship to the Internship Coordination FB 02 before the start of the internship.

As soon as the registration has been received, the internship will be registered in Hispos and will thus appear in your performance overview.

A certificate for your internship confirming that you are enrolled and have to do a compulsory internship as part of your studies can be filled out for you by the internship coordination or the examination office.

After you have completed the internship, you will need a confirmation from the internship site (see under Downloads). This must be completed and then submitted to the Internship Coordination FB 02 afterwards.

If possible, you should also ask the internship site for a qualified internship certificate, which you can attach to later application documents.

In all degree programs, you must complete a course or examination credit in order for the internship to be recognized for your studies. You can read the details in short form below. For more detailed information, please also refer to your examination regulations.

In the Master EACBS and in the MA EAS there are several options to do the internship. If you choose the internship module, the internship at home or abroad will last at least 6 weeks and will be completed with a presentation (20 minutes) about the internship in front of the internship supervisor at the institute (academic achievement). If you decide to do an internship abroad as an alternative to studying abroad, it will last at least 12 weeks and will be completed with an internship report (15 pages) AND a presentation to the internship supervisor (30 minutes) at the institute (examination performance). Please contact the internship supervisor at the Institute for English Studies/American Studies or the internship coordinator FB 02 for an appointment.

In the Master of German Studies, the internship module is completed with a presentation about the internship to the internship supervisor at the institute (academic achievement). Please contact the mentor in German Studies or the Practice Coordination FB 02 for an appointment.

In the Master Intercultural Communication and Business French or Spanish/MA Kulturwirt:in you organize a conference for other students, if necessary together with fellow students who have also completed an internship. During the conference you will present your personal experiences during the internship. Furthermore, you will organize lectures/workshops with external practitioners (course credit). If you have any questions regarding the implementation of the conference, please contact the module supervisor Prof. Dr. Jan-Henrik Witthaus.

After successful completion of the internship (proof by internship confirmation) as well as the presentation or conference, the module is booked at Hispos.
