Struggles for transformation. Critical analyses and interventions on the socio-ecological crisis.
Research Training Group "Crisis and Social-Ecological Transformation" (ed.)
What is at stake?
As socio-ecological crises intensify, so do the debates about their solutions. A strategy of green modernization is often pursued: Our capitalist growth society can remain as it is if we optimize it technologically and energetically. This attempt to stabilize the prevailing mode of production and lifestyle comes at a price. Whether conflicts over raw materials in the Global South, authoritarian tendencies in liberal democracies, upheavals in the world of work or the blocked mobility transition - the contributors explore the central socio-ecological transformation conflicts of the present and venture an outlook on how transformation can be thought of and shaped differently.
