On July 8 and 9, the participants in the “Governing in Berlin” seminar, led by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schroeder, took a field trip to Berlin. The group focused primarily on the significance of commissions for government action, as well as on how research is generated in a political context. Particular attention was paid to the commissions tasked with reforming the pension and healthcare systems. During the seminar, the students prepared qualitative interviews, which they conducted during the field trip with high-ranking representatives from politics, advocacy groups, and journalism.
