Fujiko Nakaya. Multiverse.

Symposium, Saturday 30.7.22 at 10.30 a.m.

As part of the retrospective "Fujiko Nakaya. Nebel Leben", Haus der Kunst is hosting a one-day symposium on Saturday 30 July.

Through her exploratory and collaborative approach between art, technology and ecology, Nakaya has created a multiverse of ideas that resonate today with urgent questions about our relationship to the environment. At the symposium, film screenings, presentations and conversations with international scholars and artists will branch out into Nakaya's multiverse and make new connections to her networked thinking.
The symposium will open with the sculpture HMO Nutrix (2022) by artist Jenna Sutela. The symposium is part of Technobodies - a long weekend of public events in collaboration with the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus and Museum Brandhorst.

"Fujiko Nakaya. Multiverse" is curated by Sarah Johanna Theurer and Andrea Lissoni.

Participants include Dieter Daniels, Ariana Dongus, Haden Guest, Go Hirasawa, Jenna Sutela, Hiroko Tasaka, Takuya Tsunoda, Helmut Völter, Mi You and others.

The panel on Iwanami Films is held in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Tokyo.#
