Call for Applications & Online Info Session for the MA Labour Policies and Globalisation

The MA Labour Policies and Globalisation (LPG) is a one-year, English-language Master’s programme at the University of Kassel, Germany, focusing on global labour relations, trade unions, and social movements. The programme includes a six-week internship, and offers scholarships for strong applicants from the Global South.


We are pleased to invite you to an online information session on the international MA programme Labour Policies and Globalisation (LPG) 2026/2027 at the University of Kassel, Germany on Monday, 23 February 2026, 2.00 pm CET (Central European Time / UTC+1)
In the session, you will learn about:
•    the application procedure and admission requirements,
•    the curriculum and study structure,
•    career paths and the global LPG/GLU alumni network.
The session will be hosted by Dr. Fabian Georgi (Programme Coordinator) and Dr. Tolga Tören (Substitute Professor).

•    Application period for applicants with BA degrees earned outside Germany: 
1 December 2025 – 31 March 2026
•    A limited number of scholarships for travel and living costs are available for strong applicants from the Global South

The MA Labour Policies and Globalisation brings together activists and practitioners from trade unions and social movements worldwide. It focuses on the challenges facing labour movements in times of multiple global crises and combines theoretical learning with practical experience, including field trips, case studies, and a six-week internship. 


Admission requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics, law, pedagogy or social sciences
•    A total of 240 acquired ECTS credits. In case you have earned less than 240 credits during your BA studies, it is still possible to get admitted to the programme on the condition of completing the missing credits during your MA studies
•    Knowledge of the English language equivalent to level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
•    Advanced knowledge of issues of labour relations and at least one year of practical experience in the representation of workers' interests
