The working group at the DKG in Frankfurt

The Economics of Urban and Regional Development Working Group will be represented at DKG '23 in Frankfurt am Main from 20 - 22 September with a total of five papers: Madeleine Wagner and Anna Growe will talk about "Small and medium-sized towns in the surrounding areas and in the countryside: places of work for the highly qualified?". On Thursday, Ahmed Bakry and Anna Growe will speak on "Networks in Border Regions: Understanding the Border Effect through Cultural Networks in Europe", Simin Yan and Anna Growe on "Reconfiguring the rural-urban fringe: Open collaborative workspaces as anchor points for spatial development, case studies from South Germany and the Yangtze River Delta" and Jun Wen, Linglan Bi, Simin Yan and Anna Growe on "Changes of collaborative workspaces before and after the COVID-19 pandemic in inland China: The case of Chengdu City". On Friday, Lukas Maria Häfner will speak on "The Challenge of Housing: Obstacles to Sustainable Development in the Hannover Region".

In addition, Anna Growe will co-chair a session with Kati Volgmann on "End of the Cities: Future in the Countryside? Changes in location decisions in the urban-rural relationship in times of crisis". More information can be found at dkg2023.de.
