The Forsti Altholz Pavilion presents the design and construction of a 5 × 9 m pavilion using a reclaimed timber-OSB (oriented strand board) composite system. The structural elements consist of 80 × 80 mm timber members reclaimed from a church floor structure and combined with OSB plates. The connection between the OSB plates and timber members is achieved using beech wooden nails and dowels, enabling rapid assembly with minimal use of metal components. AR (Augmented Reality)-assisted construction was adopted during the fabrication process. The project serves as a case study on the structural reuse of timber and demonstrates the potential of reclaimed timber and wooden connectors for circular construction.
The Team would like to thank the students of the Design Studio for their significantcontributions to the design, fabrication, and construction of the pavilion. We further acknowledge thesupport of M.Sc. Evelyn Kozlov, QSL-Mittel Fachschaft, SDG+LAB, M.Sc.
