The DiWiBe project (understanding and teaching the digitalization of economic and commercial occupational fields) aims to professionalize teachers in vocational schools in the field of digitalization. Objective of the DiWiBe sub-project

Sub-project 13 "DiWiBe" aims to support teachers at vocational schools in incorporating the digital transformation of economic and commercial spheres into their own lessons. The DigiLLab infrastructure set up by the Technical University of Munich - a digital teaching and learning laboratory in which different scenarios of digitalized societies can be experienced using physical infrastructure - will be used. Building on this, the existing teaching and learning resources on the digitalization of work and Industry 4.0 are to be further developed for teacher training and made usable for the didactics of business education and economic education regardless of location. The focus is on operational business processes and their mapping in ERP systems as well as the theoretical framing in the context of digitalization.

The course is being developed as an evidence-based blended learning format, consisting of attendance phases and a digital self-study environment. The first rounds will take place in winter semester 2023/2024 at the TU Munich and in summer semester 2024 at the University of Kassel. Further iterative comparisons will take place until the end of the project at the end of 2025 so that the best possible impact can be achieved with the training courses. The training and additional teaching/learning resources will be made available to teachers throughout Germany free of charge as open educational resources.
