The article "How IT carve-out project complexity influences divestor performance in M&As" by Philip W Yettona, Stefan Henningsson, Markus Böhm, Jan Marco Leimeister and Helmut Krcmar was published in the European Journal of Information Systems on July 14, 2022. The team of authors has been working on the article since 2014 and is now delighted with the publication.

The paper presents a model that can be used for IT transactions between seller and acquirer as soon as a business unit in a multi-business organization (MBO) is spun off and integrated into another multi-business organization. The model explains how the preconditions for the seller's business and IT alignment contribute to the increased complexity of the IT carve-out project.
