The paper "Designing Pedagogical Conversational Agents for Achieving Common Ground" by Antonia Tolzin, Anita Körner, Ernestine Dickhaut, Andreas Janson, Ralf Rummer and Jan Marco Leimeister was awarded the "Best Paper Award" at this year's DESRIST (Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technology).

The paper was written as part of the interdisciplinary project Komp-HI and addresses how Common Ground Theory can be used as a basis for the design of a pedagogical conversation agent to overcome the problem of conversation breakdowns and unsatisfactory learning processes. The DESRIST conference was hosted this year from May 31 - June 02, 2023 in Pretoria, South Africa and took place for the 18th time. The conference is characterized by the fact that it deals with topics of Design Science Research.
