The article was written in collaboration with Niklas Potrafke (ifo Institute) and Timo Wochner (ETH Zurich) and shows that outside employment has a measurable impact on the parliamentary work of MPs: MPs speak more frequently and more positively about industries from which they derive private income, and represent business-friendly positions overall.
