Florian Weber successfullydefended his dissertation, titled “Design and Evaluation of Artificial Intelligence-Based Learning Systems for Argumentative Writing Skills: Insights from their Implementation in Law Courses,”at the University of Kassel.

In his dissertation, Florian Weber develops and evaluates AI-based learning systems designed to promote argumentative writing skills in a legal context. The systems developed were implemented and studied as part of university courses. The research focuses on the question of how intelligent, AI-supported feedback can be adapted to the cognitive processes of writing in order to effectively support students in acquiring legal argumentation skills.

The dissertation provides important insights for the design of intelligent learning systems and demonstrates how artificial intelligence can be meaningfully integrated into higher education. It combines insights from business informatics, learning research, and artificial intelligence, thereby making an important contribution to the development of adaptive, evidence-based learning environments for academic and argumentative writing.
