Presentation and transfer of research results from the KOMP-HI project as part of a joint information event organized by ITeG and hessian.AI at the University of Kassel.

An interdisciplinary research team from the University of Kassel - led by Matthias Söllner and Gerrit Hornung - presented key results from four years of research as part of the federal-state initiative AI in Higher Education. The aim of the event was to transfer the knowledge gained in the KOMP-HI project into practice and to discuss it with representatives from science and application.

The focus was on the socio-technical design of hybrid intelligence systems that combine human expertise with artificial intelligence to enable individualized and flexible learning and skills development processes. A particular highlight was the AI-based learning system Legal Writer, which uses the example of legal training to show how intelligent systems can provide students with targeted support in their learning process.

In addition, key legal and ethical issues regarding the use of AI in higher education in Hesse and beyond were highlighted. In particular, it was discussed which framework conditions are necessary for the responsible and legally compliant use of AI-supported learning systems.

The event was held in cooperation with hessian.AI and the ITeG - Research Center for IT Design at the University of Kassel - and made an important contribution to the transfer of knowledge between research and practice in the field of AI-supported educational systems.
