In September 2022, Dr. Judith Brockmann took over as Head of the Department of Business, Social and Labour Law at the School of Business and Economics (successor to Prof. Dr. Andreas Hänlein). The focus is on problems at the interface of labor and social law (e.g. health and work). These topics are also examined from a comparative law perspective and with regard to European labor law, particularly with a view to strengthening collective labor law instruments. Judith Brockmann studied law at the University of Hamburg and the Université Paris XI and worked for several years as an independent lawyer specializing in labor law. In 2010, Brockmann was awarded a doctorate at the University of Hamburg on the topic "Ambulant Krankenversorgung ohne Kassenärztliche Vereinigungen? A German-French legal comparison". She then worked as a junior professor at the University of Hamburg and most recently as a professor of "Health Policy and Law" at HAW Hamburg.
