8891 supporters, 84 projects and almost 1 million euros: HNA takes positive stock of the UNIKAT crowdfunding platform developed by the Department of Information Systems

The crowdfunding platform operated by "Uni Kassel Transfer" at the University of Kassel was conceived, piloted and evaluated as part of a research project in 2014 by the Department of Information Systems (Prof.
Dr. Leimeister) and has since been scientifically supported by the Department of
Information Systems. To date, the UNIKAT crowdfunding platform
has 8891 supporters, 84 projects and almost 1 million euros in funding from the crowd. "That is an
extremely successful record and sets new standards," says Prof. Dr. Leimeister. At the time, the
University of Kassel was the first German university to run its own crowdfunding initiative.
Today, other universities are taking this successful example as a model to run their own
crowdfunding initiatives.
