Student Assistant (m/f/d) with a Bachelor's degree (40 hours/month)

The Department of Business Informatics and Systems Development (WISE) at the University of Kassel is seeking, to start as soon as possible,

a student assistant (m/f/d) with a completed bachelor’s degree for 40 hours per month.

The WISE Department conducts research and teaches on innovative topics related to the interdisciplinary design of socio-technical information systems. The focus is on the design, development, and evaluation of digital technologies in close collaboration with academia and industry.

As part of your role, you will support the development of web-based educational technologies in an ongoing research project and assist with technically relevant tasks within the department. This position offers you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of web development, the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering, as well as the maintenance of servers and web-based applications. Additionally, if you are interested, you will have the opportunity to actively participate in research projects.

Your Responsibilities:

• Supporting the development of web-based educational technologies as part of an ongoing research project
• Supporting, maintaining, and further developing the systems and web applications developed by the department
• Assisting with technical tasks and the administration of digital systems within the department

What we expect from you

Professional Requirements:

• A completed bachelor’s degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable field of study
• Enrollment in a master’s program at the University of Kassel
• Initial practical experience in web development, ideally with JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS
• Basic experience working with Git, as well as maintaining servers or web-based applications
• Basic experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint
• Very good German language skills

The position is available starting in September 2026 or by agreement.
