On March 29, 2019, Professor Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Director of the Scientific Center for Information Technology Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel, gave a lecture at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Founded in 1905 as the "King Edward VII College of Medicine", NUS is the oldest and largest university in Singapore in terms of student numbers and is one of the most renowned universities in Asia and the world.

Professor Leimeister's lecture was part of the DISA seminar series of the National University of Singapore and was entitled "How to Keep Crowd Workers Happy". Based on an online survey of 434 crowd workers from 23 platforms, the content of the lecture dealt with the perceived satisfaction with crowd work, a better understanding of this new form of digital work in general and the question of how perceived task characteristics and financial compensation together influence desirable working conditions for crowd workers in the context of this new form of work organization.

Professor Leimeister's presentation was followed by a joint discussion of the results with the attending researchers from the National University of Singapore.
