Research

Our research profile is interdisciplinary and future-oriented. It focuses on four key areas: Economic Behavior and Governance (EB&Go), Digital Transformation (DITRA), Skills Acquisition & Entrepreneurship (KENT) and Sustainability, Energy and Environment (NEU). They deal with the central challenges of our time and highlight topics of particular social, economic, scientific, legal, technological, environmental and educational relevance. Our economic and legal research is international and interdisciplinary. Committed to the overarching research profile of the University of Kassel, we develop innovative collaborative research initiatives and maintain strategic partnerships with leading (inter)national research institutes. Fortunately, the volume of evaluated third-party research funding has steadily increased.

Torben Steinbrecher has been working as a research assistant and doctoral student in the Sustainable Finance department since April 1, 2025.

Torben Steinbrecher has been working as a research assistant and doctoral student in the Sustainable Finance department since April 1, 2025. He previously successfully completed his master's degree in industrial engineering at the University of Kassel. His research interests particularly include the topics investor behaviour, financial performance of sustainable securities portfolios, company and investor impact and characteristics of green investment products.
