Hallo,

du befindest du kurz vor dem Ende deines Masterstudiums und würdest gerne promovieren? Oder planst schon eine Promotion, weißt aber nicht, wie du sie finanzieren sollst? Vielleicht hast du sogar schon eine Idee für ein Thema, weißt aber nicht, wie du es inhaltlich strukturieren kannst?

Dann ist das Exposé-Stipendium der Universität Kassel vielleicht genau das Richtige für dich!

Die Universität Kassel fördert Promotionswillige bis zu neun Monate lang mit 1.300€ monatlich. Während der Förderdauer sollst du als Stipendiat:in das Exposé verfassen, das für den Antrag zur Annahme der Promotion sowie die Bewerbung um ein Promotionsstipendium bei einem Begabtenförderwerk relevant ist.

Natürlich lassen wir dich damit nicht alleine: Während deiner Förderzeit besuchst du zwei Workshops, die dich beim Verfassen des Exposés unterstützen und auch deine Fragen rund um das Thema Promotionsfinanzierung beantworten.

Die Voraussetzung für die Bewerbung ist, dass du die Zusage für die Betreuung von einem:einer Professor:in der Universität Kassel hast und diese für dich ein Gutachten verfasst. Dann brauchst du eigentlich nur noch ein Motivationsschreiben, eine zweiseitige Promotionsskizze sowie einen tabellarischen Lebenslauf und deine Hochschulzeugnisse.

Eine Bewerbung ist ab sofort möglich, die Frist endet am 01.12.2026 für den Beginn der Förderung am 01.04.2027.

Hinweis: Bitte beachte, dass die Kommission alle eigegangenen Bewerbungen sorgfältig prüft. Die Sitzung, in der entschieden wird, wer das Stipendium erhält, findet Mitte Februar statt. Wir bitten dich daher um Geduld.

are you about to finish your master’s degree and would like to do a doctorate but you don't know how to finance it? Maybe you already have an idea for a research project, but don't know how to structure it in terms of content?

In this case, the exposé scholarship from the University of Kassel might be just the right thing for you!

The University of Kassel supports those who want to do a doctorate for up to nine months with a grant of €1.300 monthly. During the funding period, as a scholarship holder, you should write the exposé which is basic for the application for acceptance of the doctorate at the University of Kassel and the application for a doctoral scholarship from a scholarship foundation.

Of course, we won't leave you alone: During your funding period, you will attend two workshops that will support you in writing the exposé and which will also answer your questions about financing your doctorate afterwards.

The requirement for the application is to have approval for supervision from a professor of the University of Kassel and that this person writes a letter of reference for you. You also need a letter of motivation, a two-page doctoral outline, a curriculum vitae in tabular form and your university certificates.

Applications can be submitted from now on, the deadline is 1 December 2026 (funding begins on 1 April 2027).

Note: Please be aware that the committee carefully reviews all applications received. The meeting to decide who will receive the scholarship will take place in mid-February. We therefore ask for your patience.
