Didaktik der Biologie
In the Didactics of Biology working group, we focus on the teaching and learning of biology. Our research focuses on learning processes for evolution, education for sustainable development, scientific knowledge acquisition and digitalization.
The didactics of biology at the University of Kassel offers courses for students with biology as a teaching subject for the teaching profession at Hauptschulen and Realschulen, at Gymnasien and at special schools as well as courses for students for the subject of subject teaching at elementary school. The content of the lectures, practicals and seminars include biological knowledge acquisition, education for sustainable development, health and sex education as well as bioethical issues. Cross-cutting topics such as dealing with heterogeneous learning groups and digitalization are of particular importance.
