The Stolte Universal House was erected on the test site in 2006, is 10 m wide, 14 m long (140 m² usable area with standing walls of 2.40 m) and has a roof height of 3.90 m. The construction consists of two aluminum gables, which are clad with PC double-skin sheets (6 mm). 2 aluminum double sliding doors (3.00 m wide and 2.30 m high) are installed on the narrow sides. The gable is equipped with continuous ridge ventilation on both sides, which is operated manually.

The bolted construction of the research building consists of galvanized 2" steel pipes and rests on strip foundations. The floor of the hall is paved with interlocking paving stones.

The research building currently houses an experimental box dryer and various facilities for solar technology experiments.
