Aims

The Hochschulverband Witzenhausen (HVW) e.V. is the joint association of students, lecturers, university staff, graduates and supporters of the Department of Ecological Agricultural Sciences at the University of Kassel in Witzenhausen. The university association has around 600 members who are employed in teaching and research, in development cooperation, in business, in associations, in administration and in international governmental and non-governmental organizations or who are active worldwide in the agricultural and food sector as independent entrepreneurs, consultants or farm managers.

The non-profit Witzenhausen University Association promotes student involvement in teaching, research and science in order to strengthen Witzenhausen as a nationally and internationally important university and innovation location and to open up diverse and interesting career paths for graduates of the faculty.

The university association actively participates in networks to promote sustainable and ecological land use and the food industry in Germany and abroad, as well as the use of renewable raw materials. It works closely with other alumni associations and organizations at the University of Kassel and other universities.
