Dr. Yves Zinngrebe

Dr. Yves Zinngrebe investigates sustainable land use governance systems and incentive systems for the transformation of social-ecological systems.
In his work on biodiversity policy in Peru, he explored political discourses and social biodiversity narratives, the integration of policy sectors, and adaptive capacities in local communities in the Amazon region.

As a further focus of his work, he examines the impact of the EU's Common Agricultural Policy. In this area, he has studied the impact of payment mechanisms on farmer's decisions, the policy coherence of incentive schemes and underlying policy-making processes. In addition, Yves Zinngrebe is engaged in transfer processes between science and policy with a focus on the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the World Biodiversity Council (IPBES). He is active in the networks on "Rethinking Biodiversity Governance", "Biodiversity Science-Policy-Interface (BSPIN) Network" and the iDiv-driven group on the Common Agricultural Policy.

Since December 2019 he is at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig.
