The 6th International Symposium on UHPC and High-Performance Materials in Construction, HiPerMat6, took place at the University of Kassel from March 6 to 8, 2024.

Every four years since 2004, the symposium has provided a platform for scientists and users to discuss the latest developments in ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) and other material technology innovations in the construction industry. The symposium, which is now also internationally recognized, is organized as usual jointly by the two departments of Concrete Structures (Prof. Fehling) and Construction Materials and Construction Chemistry (Prof. Middendorf).

From September 7 to 12, 2020, STONE2020 will take place at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in cooperation with the University of Kassel.

The international congress, now in its 14th year, offers geoscientists, architects, civil engineers, conservators, restorers, monument conservators and building owners a platform to exchange ideas on the problems of decay and conservation of natural stone.

The
5th International Symposium on UHPC and High-Performance Materials in Construction, HiPerMat5, will take place at the University of Kassel from March 11 to 13, 2020.

On 26.06.2018, the joint conference of the University of Kassel and the IFS will take place on the topic of "Conservation of brick masonry".

The conference will address the issue of repair and restoration measures with the presentation of research results and practical experience. Aspects of monument preservation and historical findings will be discussed, as well as technical and restoration approaches to cleaning and pointing brickwork. In addition, experiences on the consequences of hydrophobization, impregnation, building physics findings on interior insulation and, using a prominent case study, on the statics of brick masonry are presented.

The 4th International Symposium on UHPC and High-Performance Materials in Construction, HiPerMat4, will take place at the University of Kassel from March 9 - 11, 2016.

Once again, the symposium aims to provide a platform for scientists and users to discuss the latest developments in ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) and other material technology innovations in the construction industry. The symposium, which is now also internationally recognized, will as usual be jointly organized by the two departments of Concrete Structures (Prof. Fehling) and Construction Materials and Construction Chemistry (Prof. Middendorf).

The annual conference of the Construction Chemistry Division of the German Chemical Society (Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker) will be held in Kassel from October 6-8 this year by the Materials in Construction and Construction Chemistry Division.

The conference offers scientists from universities, research institutes and companies a platform for discussion and professional exchange.

In interdisciplinary cooperation, the wide-ranging application fields and issues from the field of construction chemistry will be highlighted and the innovation potential strengthened through different perspectives.

On March 11, the regional conference of the Association of German Concrete Engineers (VDB) will take place at the University of Kassel, Mönchebergstraße 7 (3rd floor, room 3216), starting at 2:00 pm. Prof. Middendrof and Dipl.-Ing. Fröhlich will talk about the development, properties and possible applications of high-performance concretes. Furthermore, Dipl.-Ing. Deuse (Dyckerhof AG) will speak about binder compounds for the practical production of UHPC. In addition to the lectures, a tour of the laboratory facilities of the Department of Construction Materials and Construction Chemistry is also planned.

The Institut für Steinkonservierung e. V., Mainz, the Landesamt für Denkmalpflege Hessen, the Museumslandschaft Kassel and the Department of Building Materials and Construction Chemistry at the University of Kassel are organizing a conference on the tufa structures in the Bergpark Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe on 19.04.2013.
The Hercules structure and the other buildings in the Bergpark have once again been the subject of a large-scale restoration campaign by the state of Hesse since 2003. The conference will report on the various materials used to preserve the buildings.

The Institute for Structural Engineering (IKI) welcomed the members of the DAfStb and all interested parties to the 53rd Research Colloquium of the German Committee for Reinforced Concrete (DAfStb).
