Postdoctoral fellowship in hydrogeophysics and reactive transport (max. 24 months)
We invite applicants from outside of Germany for a postdoctoral fellowship position in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Faculty of the University of Kassel (Germany) to become actively involved in the Hydrogeology Research Group’s research activities. This is a full-time post-doctoral position funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) as a “Humboldt Research Fellowship” via the Henriette Herz Scouting Programme. Applicants are expected to provide a research pitch as part of the interview processes. To be eligible for fellowship nomination, the successful applicant must not hold German nationality nor have undertaken post-doctoral research stays, nor completed degrees or doctorates in Germany.
The successful candidate’s research focus should be in the field of hydrogeophysics with proven experience in induced polarization and / or resistivity measurements at the field scale as well as in inversion techniques of multidimensional field datasets. The candidate’s profile should be complimentary to the ongoing research activities within the Hydrogeology Research Group. Applicants with multidisciplinary research trajectories a as well as knowledge of contaminant hydrogeology / reactive transport processes in the subsurface are particularly welcome. The successful applicant is expected to lead an independent research project in an area of shared interest between the candidate and the Hydrogeology Research Group. The latter should be the content outlined in the research pitch.
