Dr. Korbinian Kätzl from the Faculty of Ecological Agricultural Sciences at the University of Kassel and his team are using grassland biomass to produce activated carbon that can replace fossil alternatives. Their research shows: Biogenic activated carbon offers up to 10x lower greenhouse gas emissions with the same purification performance. An exciting example of how regional resources can contribute to solving global challenges. This project is part of BiTWerk's innovative research activities.
