CINSaT Spring Colloquium 2016

More than 70 participants at CINSaT conference for the first time

As in previous years, the annual CINSaT conference took place on the last Thursday and Friday of February (25-26 February 2016) at the Ahorn Berghotel in Friedrichroda, which has been a regular venue for the event since its introduction in 2010. The record number of 70 participants, among them for the first time the Scientific Advisory Board of CINSaT as well as the CINSaT members and their assistants, reflects the positive development of the scientific center in recent years. In addition, the event was enriched by the overview presentations of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Niendorf (Institute for Metallic Materials, University of Kassel), Prof. Dr. Kilian Singer as well as Dr. André Knie (Both Institute for Physics, University of Kassel) in the course of the applications for CINSaT membership that had been submitted in advance. The candidates for full or associate membership were accepted by the members as new members of CINSaT at the final general meeting, which represents a strengthening of the scientific center's content.

During the five lecture sessions in the course of the two-day conference, which were held in the context of the scientific focal points of CINSaT, the scientific staff presented current research results from the world of nanostructures with subsequent opportunities for scientific discussions. The selected lecture topics once again impressively demonstrated the necessity of interdisciplinary exchange between the traditional disciplines.

The participants had another opportunity to deepen the scientific exchange and to discuss, plan and coordinate new research projects during the Thursday evening poster session. The diverse research activities were presented on a total of 40 posters, thus providing ample breeding ground for fruitful discussions in an atmospheric atmosphere.
