BMFTR research project on the suitability of counselling services and structures for neurodivergent and mentally impaired students acquired

The joint research project with the University of Hildesheim will start in January 2026. The project consortium and the sub-project based in Kassel will be led by Prof. Dr. Bettina Langfeldt.

On 1 January 2026, INCHER's new BMFTR joint project with the University of Hildesheim will start under the title ‘Focus on university counselling: Improving the suitability of counselling services and structures for neurodivergent and mentally impaired students (HoBeFo)’.

The project component (HoBeFoX) carried out in Kassel under the direction of Prof. Dr. Bettina Langfeldt  will focus on experts' views on improving the suitability of counselling services and structures for neurodivergent and mentally impaired students, while the project component (HoBeFoS) will examine the student perspective on the topic.

The joint project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) as part of the ‘Science and Higher Education Research’ (WiHo) funding priority. Application-oriented research projects on the mental health of students (Module C).
