Vita  (Dr. Nils Grashof)


Nils Grashof is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Microeconomics at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (Germany) and was a visiting scholar at SCANCOR at Stanford (USA). He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Bremen (Germany). During the winter semester of 2025/2026, he served as acting professor of Transformational Economics at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Kassel.

During the first funding phase of the DFG Research Group “Multiple Competition in the Higher Education System”, Nils Grashof collaborated on the subproject “(Autonomous) Universities in Dynamic Competition”.

His thematic and application-oriented focus is on the economics of innovation (especially radical innovation), the effects of clusters and value-adding networks, as well as the digital (especially AI-related) and sustainability transitions.
