On the Irrational in the Relationship Between Humans and Artificial Intelligence - Martin Potthast in the "Science for Everyone" forum at the Deutsches Museum in Berlin

At the "Science for Everyone" forum at the Deutsches Museum on January 21, 2026, Prof. Birte Platow (ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig, Technische Universität Dresden) and Prof. Martin Potthast (hessian.AI and Director at the Research Center ITeG at the University of Kassel) explored faith, imagination, and technology in their joint talk "Theolo:AI - On the irrational in the relationship between humans and AI" . How rational is our relationship with artificial intelligence – and where does the irrational begin?
Their interdisciplinary dialog revealed how religious and moral narratives often shape the way we think about AI – and how machines, despite their progress, still lack what defines humanity: experience, responsibility, and purpose.
