From March 17 to 20, project team members Lisa Schwarz from the Institute of Phytomedicine at Hochschule Geisenheim University and Alena Geffert from the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Botany, took part in the international conference of the German Society for General and Applied Entomology (DGaaE), which was held at Hochschule Geisenheim University. They presented initial results of insect catches from 2024, the first year of the TRIO project. Insect diversity is being investigated as part of the project as it is a central feature of natural ecosystems and ensures a certain resistance and resilience to change. The biodiversity present in natural ecosystems can be key to sustainable agricultural production and food security.
