Centre of Excellence in Agriculture, Food Security, and Sustainable Land Management (Angola)

The Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL) continues to extend it expertise in southern Africa. Since 2025, a new Graduate Programme on Agriculture, Food security, and Sustainable Land Management (AFSLM) is hosted by the José Eduardo dos Santos University (UJES) in Huambo, supported by Agostinho Neto University (UAN) in Luanda and co-administered by the University of Kassel (Germany), the programme strengthens regional research and cross-national training capacities in southern Africa. It combines interdisciplinary doctoral training, innovative research, and cross-cultural collaboration to address the challenges of African Food Systems in the 21st Century.
