Structure & Activities

The SGSP-AFSLM will be established under the patronage of the Angolan Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. The programme combines a modern doctoral curriculum with interdisciplinary research and regional collaboration.

In its first phase, the project will

• develop an internationally comparable PhD curriculum following international (Bologna) standards.
• recruit 20–25 doctoral candidates from SASSCAL member countries (Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe).
• implement innovative teaching and mentoring concepts (incl. international 2nd supervision)
• include 9–12-months facultative research stays at German partner universities or at institutions of the second supervisor
