Zoom: Changeover to the "Hessian model" on 04.09.2023
On Monday, 04.09.2023, we will completely switch our Zoom instances to the "Hessian model". For a detailed description, please refer to the guide "Use of video conferencing systems at the University of Kassel"(https://www.uni-kassel.de/go/vks-leitfaden), which has already been sent out.
The changeover means an adjustment of the central configuration and entails the following changes, among others:
- Dial-in by telephone is not possible.
- Surveys and breakout sessions are not possible due to the active end-to-end encryption.
- Users can decide for themselves whether they want to participate anonymously or have their own name displayed.
- The transmission of real names is excluded by the changeover, only the standardized e-mail address of the UniAccount is transmitted to Zoom (e.g. uk012345@uni-kassel.de).
- Confidential conversations should be held via an alternative, data protection-compliant video conferencing platform.
