Replacement of smoke detectors in buildings K10, K36, Torhaus A+B, Central Canteen, IW I, Campus Center

Dear employees of the University of Kassel,

Dear colleagues,

 

The IT Service Center currently operates 41 fire alarm systems with a total of around 8,200 smoke detectors. To ensure proper functioning, it is necessary to replace these smoke detectors at regular intervals of 10 years. The accumulation of dust and dirt can significantly impair the functionality of the detectors after this time.

 

The replacement of the smoke detectors is carried out by Siemens.

 

The automatic smoke detectors in the following buildings on the HoPla campus will be replaced in calendar weeks 47 and 48:

- 7030-K10

- 7040-K36 Central Administration

- 7610/7620-Gatehouse A/B

- 7260-Central canteen

 

In calendar week 49:

- 7320-Engineering I

 

In the calendar weeks 50/51:

- 7250-University Library / K 9

- 7280-Campus Center

 

In the course of this work, the fire alarms will also be tested and serviced. It is possible that fire alarm messages may be transmitted to the on-call services and the Central Control Center for Technical Network Operations (ZLT) during the course of the work.
