Students of the internship automotive and vehicle casting visit the company AE Group in Gerstungen

Starting with refreshments for the students, the event began with an interesting insight into the company structure, the products produced on site and in the company, the customers, the casting processes used and the existing opportunities for students to start their careers after or during their studies, presented by Managing Director Mr. Reibold and Human Resources Manager Mr. Schneider.

During the tour, the wide range of services offered by the AE Group was made clear. In addition to the ultra-modern, as-new aluminum die casting machines , various workflows and production processes were explained in detail. The students were given plenty to talk about for the rest of the day and were shown how interesting and varied the work in the foundry sector is in a modern company. 

In order to offer the students a cultural experience, the program also included a visit to the former GDR border fortifications at Schifflersgrund. The border museum offers an impressive insight into the conditions at the former inner-German border, which were explained in an exciting way by a contemporary witness.
