AiF-GBO project "Remote Work in SMEs" launched

In collaboration with the Chair of Information Systems, Processes and Systems at the university and industry partners, a digital tool is being developed to enable SMEs to implement remote work in their day-to-day business in an efficiency- and process-oriented manner. This enables them to utilize the potential that remote work offers to increase process efficiency, flexibility and transparency and to increase employee motivation. In this way, SMEs can secure their performance and competitiveness in the long term. The focus of the AiF-funded project is also on how processes previously classified as not remote-capable can be digitized and to what extent the use of remote work changes process goals. The basis for this is a structured survey of the initial situation and needs on the part of employers and employees in the context of remote work. Based on this, a set of instruments is developed that shows companies remote tools that are suitable for their specific requirements and supports them in their implementation, taking into account necessary process and target adjustments. The results enable SMEs to analyze their business and work processes, identify influencing factors for the transition to digital spaces and design their process landscape in a target-oriented manner through an optimal mix of analog, hybrid and digital processes.
