Expert seminar on casting and tool design at the GTK

From Monday to Wednesday, the Foundry Technology department held an expert seminar on casting and tool design with a focus on magneissum hot-chamber die casting. The seminar was led by the training department of Oskar Frech GmbH + Co KG.Mr. Schlotterbeck and his team: Mr. Frank Balbier, Mr. Ullrich Keller and Mr. Marco Stiedl were on site to jointly deepen the knowledge of casting design and tool design and to develop and discuss potential new technological approaches.

On the GTK side, experienced and young scientists as well as experienced foundrymen took part. The discussions were at a very high level and showed the potential of the Mg hot chamber die casting process. Topics such as low-circulation casting, low-emission melting, new tempering and casting technologies were discussed.

We, the Foundry Technology department, thrive on the exchange between science and practice/industry and are always pleased to have companies such as Oskar Frech GmbH + Co. KG in the house to be able to discuss at an absolutely top level.

However, we also look back on the seminar with a teary eye, because our highly esteemed and friendly training manager, technologist and long-time supporter and companion Mr. Martin Schlotterbeck will soon be taking his well-deserved retirement and will probably be visiting the Field of Foundry Technology in Kassel/Baunatal for the last time on an official mission. The entire Field of Foundry Technology wishes Mr. Schlotterbeck all the best, good health and happiness! The doors of the GTK are always open for you!
