Call for Abstracts: MRS Fall Meeting 2026, EN06 Symposium

We are pleased to invite abstract submissions to the 2026 MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibit, Symposium EN06: Materials for Effective Hydrogen Storage, Transmission and Applications, to be held in Boston, Massachusetts, from November 29 to December 4, 2026. The symposium will bring together researchers working on materials challenges across the hydrogen value chain, from production and storage to transmission and end-use applications.

As hydrogen moves closer to large-scale deployment in energy, transport, and industry, materials research remains one of the key factors that will determine efficiency, safety, durability, and practical implementation. EN06 aims to provide a forum for discussing recent advances in hydrogen-related materials science and engineering, with a strong focus on both fundamental understanding and application-oriented development.

We welcome contributions on a broad range of topics, including:
catalysts and electrode materials for hydrogen production, novel materials for solid-state and chemical hydrogen storage, hydrogen fuel cell materials, hydrogen embrittlement and structural degradation, advanced characterization including high-resolution and in situ or operando methods, hydrogen interactions in nuclear fission and fusion environments, as well as machine learning and data-driven approaches for hydrogen materials research. Contributions covering theory, synthesis, characterization, modelling, and systems integration are all encouraged.

The symposium particularly encourages work that connects materials design with real operating conditions and service performance. Studies using multiscale approaches, advanced experiments, and computational tools are especially welcome.

Abstract submission opens on May 19, 2026, and closes on June 17, 2026. We warmly encourage researchers at all career stages to submit their latest work and join the discussion at MRS Fall 2026.
