VaTuS - Thermoplastic and Silicone Composites

As part of the “WIPANO – Standardization and Norming” funding program, the VaTuS (thermoplastic-silicone composites) research project will begin on August 1, 2026. 

The goal of this project is to develop a standard for testing silicone-thermoplastic composites. The motivation for this is that there are currently no relevant guidelines or standards describing their manufacture, testing, post-treatment, and aging. 

Together with the project partner Polar-Form from Lahr, a new test specimen is being developed that also meets realistic industry requirements. 

The project will run for 24 months with a budget of €495,000.
